About the Department
The Department of Child Health Nursing is dedicated to developing nursing professionals capable of providing specialized care to infants, children, and adolescents. The department focuses on promoting child health, preventing illness, and supporting healthy growth and development.
Students are trained in pediatric assessment, child health promotion, neonatal care, management of childhood illnesses, nutritional support, and family-centered nursing care. Through simulation laboratories and clinical experiences in pediatric healthcare settings, students acquire the practical skills necessary to care for children across various stages of development.
The department encourages compassionate care, clinical excellence, and advocacy for the health and well-being of children and their families.

Preparing nursing students to provide comprehensive nursing care to the children in all developmental stages with thorough understanding of growth and development of children. Prepare students with full fledged knowledge, skill and attitude in nursing education, administration and research through unified leadership.
Department Mission
- Develop thorough understanding of Growth and Development to identify deviations from normal and early management of it.
- Enable the nursing students to develop in depth knowledge, skill and right attitude to function as neonatal and paediatric nurse to provide holistic nursing care to the sick and critically ill children at any given setting.
- Prepare the nursing students to perform evidenced practise through clinical research in the field of paediatric nursing
- Provide preventive, promotive, curative, health care to children.
