About the Department

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing focuses on promoting the health and well-being of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The department equips nursing students with the knowledge and clinical skills required to provide quality maternal and reproductive healthcare services.

Students are trained in antenatal care, intranatal care, postnatal care, newborn care, family welfare services, and women’s health management. Through classroom instruction, simulation-based learning, and clinical exposure in maternity units, students develop competencies in supporting mothers and newborns while ensuring safe and compassionate care.

The department strives to prepare skilled nursing professionals who contribute to improving maternal and child health outcomes within communities and healthcare institutions.
